BladeRunner Diamond Tools Rapid EDM Program
Restore. Extend. Perform. Most brands accepted! Nicolai Diamont, ADI, Vincent, and more.
BladeRunner Diamond tools works closely with Nicolai Diamant to quickly EDM your CNC tools. Our Re-True Program is a precision tool restoration service designed to extend the life of high-value diamond tooling while maintaining the exact geometry and performance required for CNC and fabrication applications. Using advanced Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) technology, worn diamond tools are digitally measured, reshaped, and restored to their original specifications — delivering consistent results and significant cost savings compared to full tool replacement.
How the EDM Re-True Process Works
-
3-D Tool Measurement – Each tool is scanned and analyzed to capture its exact profile and wear pattern.
-
Precision EDM Machining – Controlled electrical discharges reshape the diamond tool using custom copper molds, restoring geometry without damaging diamond structure.
-
Quality Inspection & Labeling – Tools are cleaned, verified for accuracy, and returned ready for production use.
Key Benefits
-
Extend Tool Life: Most tools can be re-trued 2–3 times, dramatically reducing tooling costs
-
Restore Original Geometry: Maintains tight tolerances critical for CNC profiling and edging
-
Consistent Performance: Improved cut quality and predictable results after re-true
-
Fast Turnaround: Typical turnaround time is approximately 10 business days plus shipping time.
-
Lower Cost Than Replacement: Maximize ROI on premium diamond tooling

Nicolai Diamant is a global leader in precision diamond tooling. Their EDM re-true program uses proprietary measurement systems and machining processes to ensure tools return to service performing as close to new as possible.
How to Get Started
Contact our team to confirm tool eligibility and begin the EDM re-true process. We’ll coordinate evaluation, shipping, and return — making it easy to get your tooling back into production quickly. Or hand them to one of our many Outside Sales reps or drop off at our storefront for quick service.
More Information
DM60-80 tools should be sent in for EDM every 5,000-7-000 linear feet (for optimum life). DM20 tools can be EDM’d but some customers push them till they are consumed dressing regularly along the way. Every tool set will be different, the tooling ran more frequently will tend to burn out faster. It all depends on a few things; tooling is there to profile, not hog off a ton of material, so set up is key. The lighter the better. It is or should be the responsibility of the CNC operator to keep an eye on the tooling and watch out for heavy lines that they cannot dress out with the dressing sticks, that means it’s time to EDM the tools. Note: Not every shop is the same, some shops run all quartz or various types of granite, extra hard, hard, soft, medium or some shops run everything engineered stone, granite, quartzite.
